The May, 2009 James Dean Fan Get-together
in Fairmount, Indiana
Masumi Furusawa likes James Dean’s Fairmount!! She came from Osaka, Japan, home of another special fan, Naomi Yamada. Naomi makes the Thousand Cranes for Jimmy’s grave and brings them to the memorial service each September 30th. We enjoyed meeting Masumi so much!! Choose one of these pages to start on:

page two of banquetExtra Photos The get-together for May 2009 started with dinner at Stephen Payne’s restaurant on Friday night. Then on Saturday morning we met for breakfast at Remember When Diner in downtown Fairmount. .
We went our own ways for a while, shopping in Fairmount, visiting the grave and the historical Museum, looking at Mark Kinnaman’s new house, until we met at 1:00 PM for a James Dean-themed scavenger hunt, won by Andrew. Lots of tourists stopped at the Gallery during the day. Fans began to arrive for the evening banquet. As the afternoon wore on, we started the ceremony to plant a tree in memory of Jesse Dillinger, a beautiful true loyal fan who recently died of Lupus. On Sunday afternoon David hosted a picnic at his James Dean Gallery where we all visited for many hours.
The next fan gathering in Fairmount is on July 24-26, 2009. All Fan Appreciation Weekends are hosted by David Loehr. For details, see David’s website, or check back at deaners.net http://.jamesdeangallery.com as well as the pages of past events here on www.deaners.net
